If you've lost sleep over how to power trash cans of the future - what, you thought they'd stay manual forever? - a Massachusetts company has the solution: the sun.

Two's solar-powered trash bins from Seahorse Power Co. - it calls them Big Bellys - were turned on yesterday for a two-month test at Westfield Mission Valley mall. The bins were placed in the center's food court, where management says it typically empties its trash receptacles about four times per hour during heavy traffic periods...
